This is what we were SUPPOSED to talk about last week 😬 We talk about going to bed AFTER midnight 🕰️, reading SHAKESPEARE 📚, rainbows with SPEEDING fines 🌈 and lots more! Lots of RnR Vocabulary, so stay positive and keeeeeep on ROCKin’, baby! 👊
The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:
I was ready to have a go at you
I’ll believe it when I see it
You know what, I will give that a watch
I’m with you
You have likely endured other major life disruptions and them
The financial meltdown of 2008
So you just got off the tube and it was pandemonium
I got a speeding fine
I’m gonna do my time
She’s teaching me to do handstands
I’m attempting to read Shakespeare which is a bit of a slog
Why put yourself through it?
I actually had a very big spike in anxiety recently
The shit has really hit the fan
What are the things you’re doing to alleviate anxiety?
Take up drawing / painting
You keep plugging away
Savour the small moments
Cherish the small moments
It’s difficult to keep on top of everything
I hope you’ve learned a thing or two
In today’s episode Dan the Man said “you’ve never had a speeding fine, have you?”, then I quickly corrected him and said “I HAD never had a speeding fine”, because obviously now I have had one!
This is a perfect example of the past perfect (or ‘the past past’ as I like to call it), as I HAD never HAD speeding fine BEFORE this week. And yes, I know it’s strange to say “I had had…”, but it’s correct, as the first ‘had’ is an auxiliary verb, whilst the second one is just a normal verb!
