Lonely Planet move aside, not RnR English is the place to go to find out information about a new city! 😁 We talk about things to do in Budapest (and Hungary in general), useless facts, killing yourself, museums, speedos in Feburary and lots more! So just keeeeeep on ROCKin’, baby! 👊
The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:
I’m going there for my stag do
Dan the Man has bottled it
But that doesn’t get away from the fact that you have bottled it
The museum of strippers
You’re going to the gym now, pumping iron
He’ll probably top himself
They are a great cure for a hangover
I threw up everywhere
Don’t rake up old graves
You’ve gotta do what it takes
I’m just covering my back there
It kind of sounds like slave labour
And then your heart just drops
There’s nothing else to say except “I bet you wish you WERE coming now!” Notice this is a PRESENT wish, but as it is HYPOTHETICAL, we use the past simple! Very much like the second conditional.
If it were a PAST WISH, we would use the PAST PERFECT. For example, “I bet you wish you HAD COME last week!”, as this is the past.
Boom. Shaka. Laka.
