RnR Grammar

In today’s show, I said:

“I was about to ask you if anyone likes Abba”

This construction of “to be + about to” is used to talk about something that will happen in the next few seconds. Here are some examples:

  1. I can’t talk, I’m about to go out.

  2. I was about to do a poo, then I realised there was no toilet paper!

  3. Help him, he’s about to die!

It is VERY common, but not used to much. So…. what should you do? Use it! 👊
