How similar are the UK and the USA? We investigate exactly this in today’s show where we have…. an American guest! 😲 Yes that’s right… but don’t worry…. she knows how to ROCK! 👊
Finally made the step up to the main show
I was just a little bit tipsy
I’ve caved in
You became a yank
Maybe I picked up an Indian accent
This manual car thing epitomises America
Are you US bashing now?
It just adds this low blow
That’s a bit of a touchy subject
There are a few bad apples
I’ll let that slide (for saying anti)
After a long time I figured it out that that’s just the way you talk
Don’t shot the messenger, ok?
You backed me into a corner
As we’re talking about America today, many people ask me what’s the difference between writing something like ‘realise’ and ‘realize’, which one is correct?
The answer is they are BOTH correct! But ‘realize’ is American spelling and ‘realise’ is British spelling. The only thing to be careful of is if you choose American spelling, then EVERYTHING in your email / essay must be in American spelling.
For example, if you write ‘realize’, then you must write ‘color’, but if you write ‘realise’, then you must write ‘colour’…. consistency is the key! 😉
