162 – The Naughty Noughties

It’s all going on today: sex, drugs, echoes, heads coming off, faces falling off and most importantly… getting a job at the pet shop! 😲 This may sound strange, but will all make perfect sense when you listen to me and the Hellraiser talk about the 00s – so just keeeeeep on ROCKin’, baby! 👊

RnR Grammar

This is more of RnR pronunciation, but if you listen back to the podcast where the Hellraiser and I were talking about when he recorded a video of me getting changed in the changing rooms, he said “it’s lucky for you that Facebook wasn’t around because you’d have gone viral!”

If you listen closely though, he actually says “you’d’ve gone viral!”

Obviously it’s NOT correct to write like that, but it’s VERY common for native speakers to put all of those words together!

So just to be clear: ‘y0u would have” becomes “you’d’ve”… confusing? Yes, I can imagine! I can only say sorry on behalf of English speakers, but unfortunately it is something you need to get used to!
