RnR Grammar

In today’s show I said:

“Donald gets his hair cut by his wife”.

This construction “get + something + past participle” is used to say that someone did the action for you, let’s have a look at these 2 examples:

  1. I cut my hair

  2. I got my hair cut

In the first one, we can see that I cut my hair myself (a bit strange), but in the second one, someone did it for me. We can use this for many other things such as “I got my car fixed”, “I got my TV repaired” etc etc… now that’s some RnR grammar baby! 👊
