In today’s show when I told Dan the Man that watermelon is actually a vegetable and he told me that he didn’t believe it, I responded by saying:

“Well, you’d better speak to the man that wrote this article”

We use this form ‘had better’ to speak about actions we think people should do or which are desirable in a specific situation (it this situation Dan should speak to the person that wrote the article).

REMEMBER…. we should ‘you HAD’ better and NOT ‘you have better’.
