The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:
it’s been a while
your podcast is hands down the best
they’re hooked
kindred spirits
that’s really egotistical
first thing in the morning
Pope Francis was a bouncer, wasn’t he?
there’s a fight and they step in
they kept the corpse in the living room
We might be stepping on dangerous territory here
I always listen to that pumping iron
go and find matey
you bring a few beers and they bring a flask for their tea
I want to talk about the word ‘matey’ from today’s podcast, as I mentioned, it’s not a ‘correct’ word, but it’s used very often when we can’t remember the name of someone.
There are lots of these words in English that we use when we can’t think of the name of something. For example, if you can’t remember the name of a THING, you can say “that thingymajig” , or if you can’t remember the name of someone you can say “I spoke to what’s his name the other day”.
So if you can’t remember the name of someone or something… don’t worry!
