The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:
He was quite a raver back in the day
You’ve earned your stripes
I was tucked up in bed by 10.30
I hope I can make it up to you this evening
I’m sorry to burst your bubble here, but we don’t have any
I hope it makes her smile, or make her blood boil
You can have a posh off
I’ve been reading up on this
Have you come across any lords?
To stock up on army
People are unaware of the bias they have in their head
This is much more in-depth than my explanation
From my neck of the woods, many people don’t pronounce their Ts
The lavatory
If someone said to me “where’s the bog?”
I’m a sucker for the French accent as well
Like the rain pattering against the window
I don’t want to brag about it
Sorry to plug my song
Whilst we’re on the topic of accents, I just want to say… be proud of your accent! I have a working class accent in English, but I am very proud of it, as it is who I am! The same as you should be. I often hear people say “my French / German / Italian / Spanish / Japanese *insert more languages here* accent is terrible”, but you should be proud of it!
Firstly because a foreign accent is a sign of BRAVERY and secondly because it’s totally normal. Scottish people have Scottish accents when speaking English, Americans have American accents, so it’s totally normal that you have the accent from your country, so be proud and keep on ROCKin’!
