RnR Grammar

There can be no other place to look than CF Charlie’s:

“if only you were a couple of inches longer”

Let’s forget the words ‘inch’ and ‘long’ are generally used to describe a penis for a second and concentrate on the grammar!

‘If only’ is used to describe a wish, for example ‘if only I were rich’, but notice that the past comes after it. It’s very similar to the second conditional as we use it to speak about a hypothetical situation, so just remember that formula people: If only + Past! 👊

P.S. That’s for present wishes, when we speak about PAST wishes, we use the past perfect, for example “if only I had studied more at school!”
