It was teacher appreciation week a couple of weeks ago, so we decide to celebrate that party today! There’s talk of spinning bottles, touching students’ private parts, managers doing admin and much more! So just keeeeeeeeep on ROCKin’ baby! 👊
The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:
The stress you have put me through
What is your go-to response?
I try to buy some time and say ‘yea, that is a good a question’
What student activity bugs you the most?
It’s a thing here (bottle flipping)
A pet hate of mine is….
When you’re already a bit grouchy and then they just start pissing about with their bottles
Detention! (for no tie)
That is just not on
The registers are pretty tricky for me
I can’t get my head round them
Popular with his peers
The ones that are a bit naughty
I would not want to get on the wrong side of you
It was like a running joke in my class…
I’m down with the kids
This sounds dodgy (drinking with her students)
You can’t give me any grief for this picture
In today’s episode, I saw:
“Flipping bottles isn’t a thing here”
The word ‘thing’ is an EASY word, right? Well actually there are A LOT of meanings to it!
In this example, we basically mean ‘anything that is popular and recognised’, but it can ALSO be used to describe a couple that have just started dating, for example ‘did you know Mike and Julie are a thing?’
I know this isn’t grammar, but I didn’t have anything else to write and I thought this might be of interest to you! 😉
