We know what weddings are, but what about the different jobs at British weddings?! 🤔 In today’s show, we talk about the role of Best Man 🎩! There’s a NEW guest on, so get ready people! There’s talk of rubbish HAIRCUTS 👨🦱, LIQUID lunches 💧 and MILLIONS of RnR vocab (well… not quite, but nearly!). Just keep CALM people and keep on ROCKin’! 💣💣💣
The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:
My haircut is incredibly sensible
Very much like a Corporal in an Army
I think you probably tried it on with her
It means to try and become amorous with them
I don’t, I’m not an avid listener
Leaving reviews can be quite tricky
Do you want to shed some light on that for me Comer?
We’re not really down with the cool kids
Keep the numbers down if you do that
I think you’re out of the running
I was there for the looks and you were there for the banter
Always the bridesmaid never the bridesmaid
Organize the stag do
It cost 85 to get in
Cheap as chips!
I was lumbered with sorting it out
One of the great things about the stag do is that you can get pissed with your friend’s dad
We absolutely nailed it
She probably was, she’s always knocking about
One other thing is the rehearsal
Doing this podcast off the cuff
I don’t want you shoving a mic in my face
In today’s show Corporal Comer was talking about his mum and he said:
“She’s always knocking about”
So… what tense is this? Boom – Present Perfect Continuous. Any idea why it’s used in this tense? As it’s not in progress in this moment, it’s not a future form… so why do we use it?!
Good question, thanks for asking. The reason is because we use this tense to talk about ANNOYING things that people do.
Here are some more examples:
My brother is always stealing my clothes.
She is always listening to terrible music.
So there’s some SERIOUS RnR grammar for you! 👊
