In today’s episode SS said “I did watch The Superbowl this year”, notice that ‘did’ there…. that’s the EMPHATIC ‘do’! We use this to contradict what we said (or what someone else said), in the show, SS said “I don’t like American Football, but I did watch…” – notice how the second part contradicts the first part? That’s why she uses the emphatic do!
